This gallery is dedicated to my own black/white work. I have always been a great fan of black/white photography since I find you tend to see more into the picture. Of course a personal preference

, but I'm hoping to refine my art in it.
I do have another gallery
[link] on DA here.
My first ever online gallery. If you decide to browse through it you'll find my work has progressed over time. I experiment with both film and digital SLR camera's and tend to practice taking most of my photos in manual mode to gain more control and understanding of how a picture will come out in the end once the shutter is pressed.
What I find with black/white photography is that you can play more with tones, lights and shadows and therefore need to be more aware of your environment where you are planning on taking that photo. Now with a DSLR you general desaturate/monochrome/grayscale the picture using PS. Whatever I do in PS for my digital darkroom I would do in a traditional darkroom when I first started learning how to develop and print my photos.
I still love results out of a traditional darkroom, but we're moving into an era of the digital realm and film will slowly become obsolete so better to start experimenting and becoming comfortable with a DSLR now. Although I wouldn't have gotten the technique if I hadn't first appreciated the art of picture taking and developing with an SLR camera.
Hope you enjoy the photos
